Recently there's been a fair amount of chatter around Ohio Gov. John Kasich possibly being a Republican presidential candidate in 2016, however, a new Public Policy Polling study shows that most Ohio voters, including Republicans, aren't the slightest bit interested in him running.

In a hypothetical primary field, Kasich manages a tie for fifth in his home state, with just 8%. Rand Paul and Chris Christie garner the most support with 17% each, followed by Jeb Bush at 10%, Marco Rubio at 9%, and Kasich and Paul Ryan at 8% each. Ted Cruz gets just 6%, and Bobby Jindal and Rick Santorum each got 4%.

If those figures weren't already bad for Kasich and his White House aspirations, when it comes to the general electorate, Kasich trails Hillary Clinton by 18 points in a hypothetical match up, 53-35.

Hillary Clinton, on the other hand, looks to fare well in Ohio should she decide to throw her name in the hat on the Democratic side. She leads Chris Christie 45-36, Jeb Bush 50-36, Rand Paul 51-36, and Paul Ryan 52-36.
